LAWEH UNIVERSITY CONGRATULATES DISINFECTION CHAMBER INVENTOR
Laweh University College has lauded Mr Samuel Olatunde Quarm for his invention of a disinfection chamber, a machine that sanitises the entire body if one passes underneath it.
President of Laweh University College, Prof. Goski Alabi, commended Mr Quarm for his exploits at turning his knowledge into a practical object that addresses a dire need of society, especially in this era of COVID-19.
Prof. Alabi noted that the feat of Mr Quarm resonated with Laweh University’s philosophy of ” Useful and Applied Learning,” being instilled into their students.
She said the Ghana owes a great deal to the kind of Mr Quarm, who are using their knowledge, skills and talents to better the lot of society.
The machine, which the inventor describes as Quarm Disinfection Chamber, is designed in a manner that senses and starts to dispense disinfectant on the body of anyone who passes underneath.
Mr. Quarm, a physics teacher at Kumasi Senior High School, observes that besides the hands and face, other parts of the body can pick the Coronavirus. It was therefore important to create something to deal with entire body and
this need led to the birth of Quarm Disinfection Chamber.
Currently, the machine is being taken through standards and certification tests at the Ghana Standards Authority.
Mr Quarm has appealed to government and relevant organisations for support to replicate the machine.
