Laweh Open University on Thursday sworn into office members of its Professional Advisory

Committee (PAC) on Communication Studies Programme of the University.

The Oath of Office was administered by Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, His Royal Majesty Nene Drolor Bosso Adamtey I, known in private life as Dr Kingsley A. Fletcher.

The PAC consists of Mr Affail Monney, President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA); Mr Dave Agbenu, Editor of the Ghanaian Times; Mr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, member of Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR) ; Mr Kwami Sefa-Kayi, Peace FM;  and Ebenezer T. Hanson, Laweh Open University.

Mr Monney was represented by Mr Dominic Hlordzi of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) while Mr Sefa-Kayi was unable to make it due other commitments.

Nene Adamtey I, who is the Suapolor and Noyam Mantse of the Se (Shai) Kingdom in Ghana, urged the PAC members to bring their expertise to bear on the Communications Studies Programme in order to help produce graduates with the requisite skills, knowledge and attitude for industry and development. He assured the PAC of the University’s unwavering support in the discharge of their duties.

The institution of the PAC was upon the advice of the National Accreditation Board (NAB) that development of programme content by universities should be guided by professionals to meet industry needs.

Present at the ceremony were Prof. Goski Alabi, President of Laweh Open University; Dr Josiah Cobbah, Vice President of the University; and Mr Ibrahim Seidu, member of Laweh Governing Council.
